Yōichi was Jūzaburō’s grandchild who died ten years ago.
The young boy went camping with his grandfather and watched the cattle grazing from summer to autumn. Also included was Jūzaburō’s bear dog, Fuji .
Once Fuji noticed something and the cows were suddenly attacked by a big bear . The bear managed to hit Jūzaburō in the face, knocking him unconscious. Yōichi tried to run to his grandfather, but the bear hit him too. The boy died instantly from his wounds.
